BookReserve FAQ's
How are orders processed?

Your customers will use BookReserve to search and place items in a shopping cart. When the customer has completed shopping, they enter their name, phone number and e-mail address. BookReserve sends you and the customer a copy of the special order immediately by e-mail. You process just as if that order were phoned into your store.

How big is the database?

Two million titles, but these titles can be filtered down as much as you like to fit the interests of your customers.

Is this service restricted to physical bookstores or ABA members?
BookReserve is committed to providing a level playing field to all independent merchants regardless of affiliation. This service fits best with merchants where books are a significant part of their physical store. But this includes "Teacher Stores","Cookware", Church and Museum stores, used book stores as well as general independent book stores. This service does not fit the on-line only, dotcom approach very well however.
Is BookReserve safe? Secure?
It does not get any safer than this. BookReserve doesn't even ask for credit card or sensitive customer profile information, since the transaction takes place in your store.
How much time and expense is involved?

BookReserve fees are much lower and maintenance much easier than other options on the internet. Set-up fees are $89.95 and operating fees $59.95 a month. This covers everything -no hidden expenses, or sales surcharges.

Can non-book items be sold too?

Yes with an option called browse list, you can show as many items as you like. You can even add product pictures and descriptions. This is great for teacher aids, cookware, used books, and much more. These items are placed in the same shopping cart with your book offerings. The monthly cost is $25 per i,000 items

Is credit card processing and drop ship built into BookReserve?

No, it is designed for store pick-up so that the orders are processed at your store's cash register. The intention of BookReserve was to provide the most basic system possible to add a high quality, searchable database for your customers.
